It has taken par- ticular aim at a national student or- ganization that distributed a “tool- kitµ that Mustifies eYerything IroP rape to murder and torture. That “toolkit” was prepared by the National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) and was distribut- ed to college campuses nationwide only days aIter the horrific atrocities perpetrated by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023. That “vile, disgusting, antisemitic document,” in the words of Touro University president Alan Kadish, not only added to the “surge in an- tisemitism in the United States,” but it has played a major role in creating “uncomfortable environments on college campuses” for Jewish stu- dents. Kadish described the “tool- kit” (which is what NSJP calls it) as “a guide on how exactly to manifest this hate. There were instructions on organizing protests, calls for a ‘Day of Rage,’ all kinds of things.” Kadish made his remarks on a No- vember edition of Touro Talks, an online discussion program present- ed by Touro University. The suit was filed against the 16-3 and another group—AJP Education- al Foundation, Inc., known com- monly as American Muslims for Palestine. Antisemitic acts had already been rising steadily in the United States since at least late 2015, according to the Anti-Defamation League and federal and local law enforcement agencies. Antisemitism here and around the world, however, rose ex- ponentially after Israel responded to the October 7th attacks, during which Hamas murdered over 1,200 people, took some 250 hostages, and raped and otherwise brutalized scores of women. In a statement after the lawsuit was filed, 6cott - %ornstein, senior vice president of Greenberg Traurig, e[Slained his firP’s inYolYePent “Since October 7,” he said, “our country has witnessed a shocking ANALYSIS tion, illegal encampments, and hostile takeovers of academic buildings—largely and concert- edly directed by Hamas and its collaborators, American Muslims for Palestine and National Students for Justice in Palestine.” rise in antisemitism, verbal and physical threats against Jews on our campuses and in our streets, vandal- ism, blockades, economic disrup- continued on page 23 Antisemitism rose exponentially after Israel responded to the October 7 attacks. 7oster promoting the º7opular <ni]ersity for .aaa» initiati]e posted on social media by 5ational Students for 1ustice in 7alestine S17 .
